KBS is producing the MAX 85 shafts instead of the MAX 80 shafts exclusively due to a need to streamline the production process. Since the specs, performance and trimming are all the same, KBS has been using the 85 shafts and with the 80 labels.
The only difference is the MAX 85 is a made-for shaft for the big OEMs. The MAX 85 steel is the 'designation shaft' for KBS and is not typically sold outside of these OEM companies.
KBS MAX 85 Steel Iron Shaft is a lightweight shaft for mid-high handicap players. It produces a high trajectory and spin rate for longer distance shots. The KBS MAX 85 Steel Iron Shaft is designed for players seeking to maximize the performance of their irons.
